That Darn Cat

Once upon a time, there was a cat.
This cat was scoping out a deck
In some other cat's yard.
No worries.
For the other cat was small.
Oh yeah, a dish full of kibble.
Yum.....

[didn't eecummings say something about fog
and little cat feet
and creeping owner's of small kittens
and...]

HOLY TABBY!!!!
Run!! oh my,
Head for the cornfield!! oh my,
Please no shotguns!!! oh my,

[for out of the door, screaming and bellowing,
came not a fog, nor e.e. cummings,
But W.B. Picklesworth.]

Take that you thieving cat.

""That kitty" is an adult cat who comes and pirates Amos' food. I'm not sorry.

Ahem. It was Carl Sandburg who described fog as coming on cat's feet:

THE FOG comes
on little cat feet.

It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.
